These starter terms are written for Chatbuddy and should be reviewed by qualified counsel for your operating company, jurisdiction, age requirements, and commercial model before production launch.
1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Chatbuddy, including our website, applications, messaging features, calls, and related services (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Chatbuddy.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be legally able to enter into this agreement and meet any minimum age requirement that applies where you live. You are responsible for providing accurate account information, keeping your password confidential, and all activity performed through your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
3. Acceptable use
You may not use Chatbuddy to break the law, harm another person, impersonate someone, harass or threaten members, distribute malware, collect data without permission, send spam, interfere with the Service, or attempt to access accounts or systems you do not own. Do not use the Service for high-risk activities where a failure could cause injury, loss, or damage.
4. Your content and community conduct
You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant Chatbuddy the limited, worldwide license needed to host, process, display, transmit, and back up that content to operate and improve the Service. You represent that you have the rights needed to share it. Be thoughtful: messages, profile details, images, and calls may be seen by the people you choose to interact with.
5. Safety, moderation, and enforcement
Chatbuddy may review reports, restrict features, remove content, suspend accounts, or permanently terminate access when we reasonably believe these Terms, our policies, or member safety are at risk. We may preserve or disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect people, the Service, or the public. We do not guarantee that every harmful interaction will be detected or prevented.
6. Service changes and availability
We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features, including free or paid features, with reasonable notice where practical. The Service is provided on an “as available” basis. Maintenance, outages, network conditions, third-party services, and events outside our control may affect availability.
7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Chatbuddy disclaims implied warranties and is not responsible for user-generated content, member conduct, third-party services, lost data, indirect losses, or interruption of access. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded. Any additional limitation, cap, or consumer-rights language should be finalized for your jurisdiction before launch.
8. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend and hold Chatbuddy and its people harmless from claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of the Service, your content, or your breach of these Terms.
9. Termination
You may stop using Chatbuddy at any time. We may suspend or terminate access under these Terms. Provisions that by their nature should continue—including ownership, disclaimers, limitations, and dispute provisions—will survive termination.
10. Governing terms and contact
Replace this section with the legal entity name, notice address, governing law, venue, dispute process, and consumer-rights terms approved for your business. Questions about these Terms can be sent through our contact page.
